Hospitality

Hospitality notices who is new, displaced, or on the margins and makes concrete room for them to belong, receive care, and participate.

Recurring patterns in how you serve, strengthen, care for, lead and build up others, drawn from Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12 and related New Testament passages.

Creation to restoration

Its place in the Bible's one story

God created people to reflect His generous rule by caring for one another and cultivating His world. Sin bent service toward neglect, control, and self-interest, yet God formed Israel to become a blessing and repeatedly raised faithful servants for His purposes. Jesus, the servant King, announced and demonstrated God's present Kingdom, gave His life for others, and rose in victory. By the Spirit, His people now share His practical love as a foretaste of the day when creation is restored and every hidden act of faithfulness is brought into the light.

Hospitality creates spaces where strangers become neighbors and people can experience the welcome of God's Kingdom through ordinary meals, rooms, attention, and inclusion.

Recognizing it wisely

Hospitality is broader than entertaining and need not depend on a large home. Healthy welcome protects safety, honors boundaries, and draws overlooked people into genuine relationship rather than making them projects.
